Whitby, North Yorkshire

Whitby - a small fishermen village - is situated on a beautiful spot of the North Yorkshire coast on the A171 [Map] close to the border of the northern Yorkshire moors.

A beautiful beach invites all sun enthusiastic. Children can build castles while their parents relax in the sun or they can go for a swim in the clean sea. Whitby was awarded with a blue flag for its outstanding beaches.

But the beach is not all what Whitby has to offer. Picturesque market streets, beautiful cafes and restaurants and lovely decorates shop invite visitors to stay for a while in this beautiful town.

Don't miss to visit St. Mary's Church and Whitby Abbey on the south cliff. The way up over the famous Whitby steps is worth the exercise. The view is astonishing.

While you are in Whitby I highly recommend to visit also Robin Hood's Bay 7 miles away towards the south.
